Mysterium is one of my little altered books. I have added some silk ribbon and fibers in co-ordinating colours also. A joy to make!! xoxCarol

SHABBY CHIC CORSAGE (sold)
I just love making these!! I buy my vintage lace when in Dublin and I think that adds to the lovlieness. Maybe they aren't very shabby, but they are chic! I made myself several in different colours..naughty me! I have lots of commission orders with these because colour is so important when you are co-ordinating an outfit to wear! xoxCarol

FELTED PURSE (sold)
I can't remember if this is one of the purses Belle Amoire published or not, but anyway here it is. I wet felted the cream coloured base and then gently wet felted and needlefelted the silk on top. The silks are the muted coloured pieces you see. I added a simple button and strap. I rarely do straps any more, now I just roll felt a short handle like on the purse in one of my previous posts. I find they co-ordinate much nicer! xoxo Carol
ASSEMBLAGE BROOCH (sold)
This is one of the many assemblage brooches I did after someone gave me some scraps of velvet to play with. The front is some felting I did and the back is the velvet part. I had so much fun with these little guys!!!! And as you know, we all have bits and pieces in our studios to fool around with!!! The face cab is one of mine, the sort of halo is a flattened bead cap and the heart is an earring part. I am so blessed because I know someone who gives me all their cast offs of costume jewellery such as thieir parts and broken pieces....well, you know the saying, "What is one man's trash is another man's treasure"!!!!!! xoxox Carol

FELT PURSE
Here is a little felted purse I just finished. The lining is hand dyed wool and the outside is wet felted merino and angora. I have felted the wool on to the wool lining and also given it a dyed wool handle. The bead embellishment is a lovely 30cm foiled lampwork bead that works well with the colouring. I bought the bead especially to compliment this unusual colour of the wool. We never have too many little purses do we girls?? xoxo Carol

ANGEL OF DUBLIN (sold)
Here is ANGEL OF DUBLIN one of the canvas art dolls in my ANGEL series. As you can see, she is mounted on a canvas and hung with some rusty wire. Her polymer face is one of mine as I only use my own faces in my work up to now. Her wings are leather as is part of her headpiece. A metal found object graces the top which I had painted to look vintage. (That was before I was able to buy a rusting product, now there's no stopping me from rusting everything in sight!!!) Her skirt is a green velvet print from Liberty I think.....that's it! I made her in honour of my favorite city in the world, Dublin!!!! I have lived in eight countries and many cities and Dublin will always reside in my heart of hearts. xoxoCarol
FELTED BROOCH (sold)
This is the only picture of one of my felted brooches that I have left out of many!! I have been selling these in galleries for a few years now, they are soooo popular!!! The base is wet felted felt from Welsh merino wool, I add one of my partial face cabs and beads. That's it!!! Very simple, but nice and not over the top "artsy" for those dear ladies who want to purchase a piece of jewellery that isn't going to shout!!!xoxoxCarol
AUTMN FAIRY (sold)
The only name I had for her is Autmn Fairy. She is another of my little dolls created around a Jenga piece. Her dress, if I remember correctly, is some sort of silk from India which a friend had given me ages ago. Her face is one of mine and her arms are from the Barbie dolls I had. She has legs also, although you can't see them without lifting her skirt. I can't remember where she resides now!!! Everything on this gallery blog has been long gone. Last year I had hundreds of pictures of my sold pieces of art but I got rid of most of them because they were getting cluttered on my picture trail. xoxoxCarol p.s., I forgot to say her hair is Welsh merino wool, the same stuff I use to felt with! Makes great hair!
ANGEL OF VIOLET (sold)
Now, this is one of my favorites in my ANGEL series!!! She has been residing in Wales for quite a while now with a very, very lovely lady who purchased her. The corners are polymer scrolls I made for her, the wings are embossed paper and I made her face myself. I just adore the colour of violet!!! Carol

ACEO (sold)
I had never really given this a title, but it is done on chipboard and it is bigger than an aceo, but unfortunately I couldn't think of calling it anything other than an aceo. I have used a vintage French postcard, paper wings, and some decorative brads on the top, which I have stamped and embossed for a French feel....although it could also feel Italian! I say French because I bought a bunch of old postcards at a market near our home outside of Paris. I am always finding something useful at those adorable markets!xoxoxCarol
ANGEL OF TOPAZ (sold)
This, dear readers, is one of the canvas dolls in my Angel series. This one is Angel of Topaz and I made her, or one like her, I can't remember, as a commission. On the very top of the canvas she is mounted on are some coloured dominoes, she has one of my polymer faces, my hand painted silk over dyed skrim. Her wings are embossed paper and I have also placed small ribbon roses in a complimentary purple around in places. I had no idea what the colour scheme would be until after I dyed the dominoes, then it all fell together for me. A sheer delight to construct this doll!! xoxoCarol

"PURPLEINA" AN ART DOLL (sold)
Here I am introducing you to PURPLEINA!!! She is one of my little masterpieces (!!!) that I did after I bought a Jenga game at the charity shop for pence and wondered what I could make from the pieces. Well, I made her!!! The polymer face is one of my own, the silk dress is from some of my painted silk I keep on hand which I paint myself for just such a use. The arms are from a batch of barbie dolls I bought and severed their arms for other art projects. She even has legs but they are not visible on this picture. The hair is wool I dyed, her wings are golden leaves, and her little headpiece and fronticepiece are of painted tyvek that was left over from a project I did for BELLE AMOIRE magizine. Her body is the Jenga piece! That's it!!! Lots of fun to make and she now resides in Texas, USA.
ONE OF MY WET FELTED BAGS (sold)
This is one of my wet felted art bags. I begin with Welsh merino wool tops, add some alpaca and a little mohair and begin felting. The result is extremely soft and lushious feeling!!! Then the fun part of embellishing a little....or a lot....depending on my mood!!! Or depending on the client who ordered one. Some ladies just love lots of beads and bits on their bag, others like it simple like this one. By the way, I just remembered that the beads are made of purple organza! I hope this might inspire you a little to try felting if you have never done it before. It is dead easy and pretty fail proof!!!!

WET FELTED FLOWER BROOCH (sold)
I am in such a felting mode right now!! Over the weekend I went to WOOLFEST in Cumbria which was a celebration of all things wooly!!! I saw many breeds of sheep, some of which provide types of wool I use in my work. It was interesting to see them close up!!! And they are such beautiful and gentle creatures, I wanted so much to hug them. But, here is a flower brooch I felted with Welsh merino and angora. I have done soooooo many of these over the past few years!!! I do different styles and colours and the galleries I am in love them because they fly off the shelf. I, myself, have them in an array of colour combinations to match my outfits. Carol
ANGEL OF 7 (sold)
This is ANGEL OF 7, a canvas art doll I did. I have a series of Angel dolls that will appear on this blog, I don't have pictures of all of them though as I have been doing these for quite a while and don't have the pictures any more. But this one is on a 5x7" stretched linen canvas. I just painted the canvas and built up from there. I quite enjoy doing these and they are very popular in the galleries and on Ebay. My customers enjoy them and that gives me so much joy. Carol

Welcome everyone!!! This blog is a sister blog to my other one. In ART MAVEN I will post pictures of my art, hopefully to give enjoyment and possibly inspiration to anyone who happens to look!!!
